At Dingle Community Primary School, something magical has taken root. Through a collaboration with Play to Measure, the school has witnessed the transformation of it’s playground into an immersive and creative play village. Let's take a closer look at the exciting features of this vibrant space.

The Dingle Play Village: Where Adventures Await

Step into the enchanting world of The Dingle Play Village, a collection of free-standing structures designed to ignite imaginations and inspire adventures. From the quaint Play Shop with its serving hatch and chalk menu board to the cosy Multi-Sensory Snug adorned with multi-sensory tactile boards and music making wall fixtures, each element invites children to embark on imaginative journeys together.

The Treehouse

At the heart of The Dingle Play Village stands the majestic Treehouse, a fixed structure measuring 4 by 4 meters and offering a bird's-eye view of the playground below. Complete with a commercial platform slide, climbing wall, and stained carved redwood balustrading adorned with educational carved leaves and tree names

Enhancing Privacy and Creativity with a Giant Chalk Wall

Giant chalk walls have been artfully attached to the existing metal fence. Not only does this provide additional privacy for students, but it also serves as a canvas for their creativity, turning the once mundane divider into a colourful masterpiece.

The Sandpit Hut

Nestled within the playground is the purpose-built Sandpit Hut, designed to provide a safe and animal-free environment for sand-based adventures. This cozy 2 x 2-meter hut boasts stained loglap cladding, a marine ply and timber surround internal sandpit, and a felt roof. Complete with a Perspex viewing window, lockable door, and clear polycarbonate roof sheets, the Sandpit Hut offers children a secluded oasis for sensory exploration and imaginative play.

The Mega Mud Café

Stretching 4.2 meters long and featuring a host of amenities including a Belfast sink, taps, shelving, and chalk wall menu boards, the Mega Mud Café provides the perfect setting for young chefs to whip up delicious mud pies and culinary delights.

Outdoor Shelter: Embracing Nature Rain or Shine

Standing tall amidst the playground is the 5.8 x 4.8-meter lean-to shelter, offering respite from the elements while connecting children with the outdoors. Constructed with sturdy 6x6 inch upright posts and ornately carved roof joists, this shelter features a clear polycarbonate roof to allowing natural light to filter through.
